The logo comprises of two important elements. The round circle Enso (formally spelled ensō) is a sacred symbol in Zen Buddhism meaning circle, or sometimes, circle of togetherness. It is traditionally drawn using only one brushstroke as a meditative practice in letting go of the mind and allowing the body to create, as the singular brushstroke allows for no modifications. While at first glance, the enso symbol appears no more than a misshapen circle, it symbolizes many things: the beauty in imperfection, the art of letting go of expectations, the circle of life, and connection. It symbolizes strength, elegance, and one-mindedness.

And the word Nagi, “The calm in the sea after the storm”. A strong motif of recovery work and healing, a symbolism that there will be peace thru chaos and they coexist and is codependent. The graceful and elegant flow of the brushstrokes 撇(piě)&  横折斜钩 (héng zhé xié gōu) horizontal and slanted hook mirrors the flow of water and allowing for things to take its natural cause. The sharp strokes symbolizes the sharpening of our bodies and minds to be swift, agile and decisive such as a blade that is constantly repolished and resharpened. In contrast the solid strokes of 止 (zhi) is a symbolism for humility, just like a bamboo, the higher we grow, the deeper with connect and the lower we bow ; a symbol of true strength and courage.

The combination of the two stands for NCDC’s practice in Movement Meditation, letting go and allow energy to flow ; in turn through consistent practice and integrated into a state of mind allows for a peaceful approach to life.
